How I Work

We talk, I dig in, you help.

I come to you for a Consult, taking a look at what you want help with, and finding out what your needs and challenges are. I look, ask questions, and listen to your thoughts.

If you choose to go ahead with my help, we agree on a project list and set up a schedule.

I'll start by finding and grouping things, in order to start pulling order out of chaos.  We'll be reclaiming corners and rooms and spaces piece by piece … so that you can see what you have, and what you want to get rid of.  We talk often, you pitch in as much or as little as you want, and I respect your boundaries.

When we've figured out what needs to stay and what can go, I’ll put it all back together in a way that makes sense to you.  I’ll even teach you some tricks for keeping it that way.

The weight that comes off your shoulders when you start seeing those changes is immense!  Your heart gets lighter, your step a bit bouncier, and you realize that hope has taken up residence again.

The Details

The Consult

First, you call me to set up an appointment.

  • I come to you, and spend about an hour going over what you want help with, getting to know your dreams, challenges, and priorities.
  • Before I leave, I’ll share with you what I see as possible, and how I would tackle the job.

The Quote

Next I give you a quote, including how long I think the job will take.

  • I have an suggested hourly rate, but also a sliding scale that should work for anyone.
  • If there are multiple spaces, I’ll break the quote up to reflect that.
  • If supplies like storage bins and shelves are needed, I’ll give you a ballpark for that, too.
  • I’m also very good at working with what you already have, if the budget is too tight for new things.

The Job

You tell me how much of the work you want to go ahead with.

  • We get you scheduled in, and start as soon as we can!
  • I generally work directly with you if you're able and willing, but can also work solo.
  • I can also bring more help if the job warrants it (for an extra fee), or you can supply someone for additional labor if there’s a lot of heavy stuff to move around.
  • Please note: you'll need to be available some of the time to talk over ideas and make decisions, even if you're not actively participating.

The Extras

  • Along with the informal Coaching that I weave into our time together, I'm also able to do the extra bits that turn up in many jobs.
  • I offer Handywork like rehanging pictures, patching holes and repainting a wall or two, and putting together shelving. It's all part of the job, at the same hourly rate.
  • I clean things when necessary also, to make sure your space shines when we're done.

Business Hours

My working hours are somewhat flexible, but please keep calls between 8am and 8pm.  I can schedule consultations on any day of the week, so I'm sure we can work something out.

  • Mon – Fri
    • 08:00 am – 06:00 pm
  • Sat – Sun
    • Closed

I serve most of Hancock County, Hawkins County and Greene County, and will go as far north as Kingsport.  I also cover Grainger County as far south as Washburn or Rutledge.
